Formed out of the ashes of Portrush dinasaur rock group Pond, My Attorney always had motivational issues. “I just want to go home,” said guitarist and co-songwriter Andy “Andrew” Warmington, who is by far the most punctual of the Ex Libris musical circle. “Don’t tell them about the orphans,” was all their singer, Andrew “Andy” Gardiner could say, before digressing into a long-winded explanation of how Haunted Cavern reverb made him feel warm inside.
My Attorney’s debut release is a full-length album entitled Silver Bullet. Recorded in several fevered weeks in August 2005, using the most primitive of electrical equipment, it manages to span pop-rock, electronica, Soviet-folk and even has time to include a ballad about local developers building houses over greenbelt areas.
It’s principal influences were Elvis Costello, Mogwai, Jeff Buckley, Transistor Radio Sound and The Beatles.
