Break down the curfew - ep
Death of a Salesman
This EP contains the most shocking song you will probably ever hear. It’s called Goth Girl, and contains nothing but sampler, vocal and ambient keyboards. It ends with a ghostly incantation of a dastardly text message, sent directly from a ring road air conditioned office, somewhere outside Peterborough. Some people believe the track to be haunted.
This is the first release from Luke Page, formerly of Flood In The Attic fame, and his merry band of Salesmen. Most of the songs here originate from acoustic riffs, that have been fed organically on piano, reverb and toy keyboards. One song, On The Road, was recorded as live and as quickly as possible, lending the track a fresh sound listeners will recognise from previous Flood material.
The influence of Dylan and The Flaming Lips is strong in this collection, though Fly, Fly, Fly suggests a more expansive sound reminiscent of Jeff Buckley. An essential purchase for Flood In The Attic fans and goth girls alike.
