Break Down The Curfew EP
Death Of A Salesman

This odd collection of songs marks the transition from the prog-rock aspirations of previous long player Up The Anchor, to the more experimental work of the Blue Screem of Death, the group that would evolve from the Salesman project.

On ‘I Hope I See You Again’, Page channels his love for Bob Dylan and Neil Young with a ragged acoustic stomp that is quickly overcome by feedbacking guitars and a choir.  ‘Fly Fly Fly’ has similarly lush production values: glockenspiel and keyboards weave inbetween the plaintive electric guitar to create a desperate ode of longing.

However, the contrast in mood between these songs and the chilling ‘Goth Girl’ could not be more marked.  A spare electronic bass beat and sick lyrics of abuse and blood letting plunge the listener into a truly uncomfortable experience.  Not for the faint hearted.
